Relaxing Papallacta Hot springs
Termal Pool, a wonderful hot spring located at the northwest of Quito, 1 hour and half drive from the capital. It is a place surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape and with a privileged vegetation growing over 3,000 meters.
Saquisilí Animal Market
An indigenous market, a good place where to come to know more about the typical customs and culture of the Ecuadorian Indians. Saquisilí is a market whose origin comes from ancient times where people used to trade just exchanging products and socialize. You will also enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Avenue of the volcanoes.
Baños
A small town located in the Ecuadorian Andes, is the doorway to the Amazon basin. A small place with a large number of exciting activities for those who love adventure, nature, nightlife and above all get away from the city. You can choose anything you like to do such as: bike rides, horse rides, good walks, white water rafting, rappelling, or just relax in the sulphur water that the hot springs offer you (water from Tungurahua active volcano). It is place to spend more than one day therefore, you will spend the night here.
Mindo Cloud Forest
An area of cloud forests and lots of birdlife, is only 2 hours drive from Quito. It has a wonderful weather and a wide range of activities one can do such as: bird watching, tubbing, walks to waterfalls, swimming in rivers, enjoy orchids and many other activities near by. Here you will spend the night in an ecological lodge surrounded by a wonderful vegetation.
Otavalo Indigenus Market & Quicocha
Otavalo is an indigenous village located 110 km from Quito. Indians of the area are dedicated to textile, in fact one can see many workshops in local houses. Otavalo is a worldwide known market with a big variety of handicrafts, people from all over the country meet here every week to sell stuff from their places. Near Otavalo is located Cotacachi volcano, its crater is now an exceptional lake called Cuicocha, a fascinating place where one can walk around the rim of it or take a ride to the centre of the volcano.
